Well well well.. bank holiday today. Didnt really do lots of stuff today. Went to city centre for a walk and see-see-look-look. As expected, most of the shops are closed. but i did managed to do some shopping. haha. got a shirt for my brother from topman! hehe. got an unexpected student discount of 10%. Yippee!
I saw a belt that is damm nice also. but it cost 20 pounds. better dont buy it harshly. i'll most prob be going to meadowhall again next week with my flat mates, cause they are leaving!!! *sobz* meadowhall is a much bigger shopping mall than city centre. Hope i can grab some stuff. tee-hee.
I'll remember to bring my camera because i tink i will not be going to meadowhall again. maybe. most prob i think. because it's quite ex to go there, taking a tram cost 2.50 pounds= $8.25. since yanyan's not a keen shopper, she will not want to go there another time. sooooo i must make use of the opportunity. haha. Mercedes is working in a shoe shop. maybe i can get my brikenstocks there. MAYBE.
I watch the 1st hour of house of wax just now because of my chad micheal murray. but it does scared the hell of me. haha. i was wearing headphones, and i was soooooooooooo scared that i turn the volume down and looked else where. Awwww... yes. simin's a scary baby. xia dao wo! haha. the stupid thing is my darling micheal is not the main character at least in the 1st hr. wasted 1 hr to scare myself.
going to lab again tml. tuesday. hope weekdays will fly and weekends crawls. haha. anyway, short week will pass faster and then ta da! the 10th week! yes! 5 more weeks to home sweet home then.
i'm missing the lil piggy joanna, qiuli,Qx and janis gave to me. only hug it once. hehe.

47 more days to end of attachment!! i shall start counting down now.
just had my dinner, rice that i cooked in the afternoon and some baked beans. Mama say my face looked more chubby= put on weight lah. haha. die liao lah, i should stop eating carbo stuff. But what can i eat here! damm. pasta, noodles, pasta, noodles and potatoes. all these are CARBO. i shall work hard to get rid of the extra kgs back in spore! i MUST and i WILL. haha. have got no weighing machine here, shesssh.
Cambridge diet here i come! or maybe i shall use you on the second week i go back. hehe.
I still remember being a 60 over kgs back in sec sch days. eeeeeeeeeeeks. then somemore or rather, something or maybe somebody motivate me to shed all those irritating stuff off me.
haha. my cousin put this picture as her msn pic! i was like!! my god!! haha. and asked her to send to me. this is the sec 3 me i think. stop laughing okies. hehe.
So if i did not remember wrongly, i did shed away the fats slowly. but dunno how i did it last time.
But!! i managed to put on the weight back when i was in J1. dont know how i do it!! i think my weight shot back to 60+kgs again! shessh! So.... during J1 holidays, i tried eating the cambridge diet. hha! it works! i lose about 1.5 kg each time i eat it. but then, u have to co-ordinate it with exercise lah. Hula hoop is the best! hehe. my all time favourite! so within a month of hard work, i managed to lose 6 kgs. and during normal sch days, PE works lor. run on track for like 6 rounds for 3 times a week or 2 times?
hehe. u guys must be calculating my weight now right? haha. Dun need to guess liao, might as well give u the big hint. above 50 below 55. haha. 5kg range not very big right. But now leh, i dunnoe. hope i dont increase more than 2 kg, if not i will smack myself.
Unlike others, for example my dear mabelline, no matter how much she eat, she WILL NOT put on any weight. heavy dinner, late night suppers will not make her grow an inch horizontally. However, for the poor ger me, who tried to avoid carbo, no supper at all for my entire life, still can put on weight. if i happen to eat a lil more for maybe 3 days consecutively, i will just wave hello to the kgs of fats. haha.
So... what's happening to me now is that, eating carbo for every meal. lunch= sandwich, dinner= pasta or noodles? so much carbo! i cant really avoid them. because in spore, mummy cooks delicious dinner dishes, so i can eat lil rice or without rice. but in uk, having to cook myself, means noodles. easy and simple. no sophfiscated food like stir fired veggies or sliced chicken. i just have mushroom noodles or maybe tuna. not even chicken. because they will just spoil when i buy them back.haha. i have only eaten pizza once in uk! can u believe it! so i really dunno what's making me putting on weight. bread i think!
haha. enough yaking and gibbering on my putting on weight encounter. pardon me because i have nothing to do now. tee-hee.
Oh yah, i will try not to eat so much carbo for the rest of my 1.5 months here. hehe. sooooo if i really look fat when i go back to spore, please tell me. truth hurts, but i rather hear the truth, so i can do some dieting, together with my bro, who says want to join me. maybe we can have some competition or something. hehe. make dieting more fun!!

Did i mention that i will have no more shopping?? YES! no shopping for me. i have decided to save up my money and return to spore on 15th july, just in time for GREAT SINGAPORE SALE. Yeapp.. just in time before it ends. shop till i drop with my buddies.
I tried looking for my daddy's wallet today in city centre. Apparently, there ain't many wallets lying around. Either they are not the designs that my dad wants, if not they look super old. Old as in the poor wallet is lying on the shelf for a million years.
So.. my friends, u guys have to settle for some chocolates instead! Anyways, the stuff they have here, we can get them in spore, 3x cheaper. haha. BUT then hor! dont think i will get u guys cheapo chocolates ok! they are nice chocolates that you cant get in Singapore! that's the reason i decided to get chocolates back. JUST BECAUSE WE CANT GET IN SINGAPORE. tee-hee. however, if u are a tea-lover, leave me a taggie. :"P
Arghs. hate it. hate it. Sheffield is really small, city centre is also small. i dont have many places to go. BORING. haha.
I wish i can go travelling. Maybe the next trip? i want to go lake district. i want to go manchester. even though i dont like Man-United, i still want to go their homeground, snap pictures, see-see-look-look. Boo-Hoo.

I just got the urge to blog.
nothin exciting bout my life today or should i say it's not exciting everyday?
Well,being in UK for nearly 8 weeks, i realise some difference between Singaporeans and the british, at least in Sheffield.
Hm, almost all british can drink ALOT. Singaporeans can drink a lot too. but not as frequent as them.even young teengae gers drink here. Teens= 10 yrs and above.there might be even younger ones.Maybe that's the reason beer is cheaper than a glass of coke or orange juice. They smoked quite a lot too. But i seriously think that they are on-par with us over here.
haha. Singaporeans love to shop during the weekends, but it's almost like a ghost town here on a sunday afternoon.EARLY afternoon i mean. The weather changes as fast as i changes my mind in Sheffield, one sec raining, next sec bits of sunshine. British dont say 'ok' they say 'alright'. Well, what makes me most uncomfortable is the way they say the time. 8.50= ten to nine. The first few weeks, i'm like... huh? pardon?? but now i'm alright with it liao.
The cleaners here are real nice, and they are not called cleaners, but i'm not sure what they are called. They will greet you every morning without fail, and asked you to be careful when they are mopping the floor etc. But in singapore, perhaps majority will give you a pissed look when you stepped on the wet ground. Is it they are too busy to be bothered with you? i dont know. well another thing, they seem to enjoy chewing their fingers. most people do. Singaporeans chew fingers too. but not majority right?
Well.. they are many more difference, but i'm simply lazy. Tee-hee.
I know it's a bit SLOW to only post up some pictures i took at Changi Airport on the day i left for uk but better late than never mah. haha. i miss talking singlish. i miss huh-ing, lah-ing, mah-ing, and of cause liao-ing. hehe.

today is the first day of in-situ hybridization protocol. It's was really long and draggy, with washes every 5 minute and stuff. But what i really dont enjoyed is that we have to make those calculation to find out how much stuff to put into it. I just dont like those science calculations. yeah, though i'm studying science for like at least 10 yrs?
The problem is i dont do the calculations fast than Andy did. so sometimes, it just make me feel that he might think that i dont think or something like that. i knew u guys will say i'm being sensitive. yes. then so be it. i am sensitive.
I dont know why i get more nervous and tend to do the wrong stuff when he's around. Is it normal? i dont know. maybe when he's around, i tend to be more ' careful' which simply means more mistakes, as i tend to be more careful and not thinking bout what i'm doing.
Maybe i cared too much about what he thinks of me. basically it's all boils down to the assessment. MUST BE IT. But no matter how i tell myself not to be affected by it, my mind just couldnt listen to me. it just do whatever it wants. i simply hate this feeling.
i hate orange too. i've been trying to reply to my friend for the past one hour, and it just say message sending failed. arghs! hate it!
I've not been talking to my mama for a few days already. because i've been ending sch quite late this few days. reached home at quarter to 8 on monday and 15 past 7 today. so tired to have long day.
i'm been thinking shld i go to Edinburgh on the weekends with the guys? i wanted to go so badly and jane makes it sound so fun. but i feel bad to go there alone, without my partner. how!
anyways, hope tml will be a shorter day than usual, which is impossible. because, it's in-situ day 2 and we still have to do injection in the morning. :~(

hehe. Finally we found our way to the Chinese supermarket in Sheffield. It has a typical chinese store smell. i cant describe the smell to you lah, but it's just typical. We didnt buy anythings though, because as EXPECTED, everything is EXPENSIVE. i saw my TOFU, but i think it's like 5 times more expensive?and the most shocking to both of us must be the packets of vita-soy sitting on the dusty shelves. my eyes nearly POPPED out. 3.65 pounds for 6 packets of flavoured vita-soy. so can u pls calculate it ourselves? just mulitply by 3.2. and not forgetting spore very own 'Yeo's' flavoured drinks.
however, the shop did give us qing qie gan when we stepped in. Chinese shopping for some veggies and stuff and Amei greeted us with her ting hai. haha. Hwee and yuwei will be proud to hear this.
Tml is monday again. i simply hate mondays. beginning of another week. hope this week will pass real fast because it's long weekend! and it indicates the end of 8 weeks= 2 months! which means.... 1.5 months left!

i'm half way through my 2nd interim report. Hope i can finish it by Thursday, which is tommorow, so i can show it to andy. ArghZ! time flies. 8th week is coming and it's going to be a short week, cause of Bank HOLIDAY. yes. it's Holiday for the british. i dont remember there's a holiday for Singapore. But we do have Vesek day coming right? hehe.
I want more holidays. i just simply love the feeling of slacking in my flat doing nothing, just slacking and lazing around, watching movies, reading storybooks. Yeap! read STORYBOOK! i seldom do that when i'm in Singapore. But apparently, life is so bored here that i'm resort to reading to kill time. haha. but it's not cheap to read here ok. i spend 7 pounds on one and a half book. because 3 for the price of 2, me and drew shared the books. haha. so we have like 4 books to exchange with each other. tee-hee.

Well, i'm going to watch the movie with Cecile and her french friends on sat night at the school's cinema. Never been there before. haha. though such shows never ever appeal to me before, i didn't want to turn her down.
Because i had turned her down several times before. :P
it's cheap to watch it in school's union. think it's 1.50 pounds? compared to the cinema outside, it costs like 6 pounds? shhessh.

I feeling extremely bored now. Today isn't a good day in school. My injection did not turn out well, screwed things up. i hate it when it just isn't my day. Hope tomorrow is a better day. *pls*
My beloved MABEL is back from TAIWAN! haha.. yeappie. I yearn to start my Jap class with her. I want to learn JAP again! i hope i will not give up, just like the previous class. Tee- hee.
After venturing into biotech for 1 year, i sort of realise i don't really like the course. don't like in the sense of after being in my attachment , i feel that i'm not really suitable to sit in the lab all day to do research stuff. Maybe because of my project title? maybe because i miss my family too much?i really don't know. i'm confused now.
I DO hope that i can get into either NUS or NTU next year. But to major in what? i seriously don't know. I want to study something i like, but on the other hand, not many people are actually doing the stuff they want right?
Anyway, wait till i CAN get in NTU or NUS then i start thinking lah. Once bitten, twice shy. I had fallen before and of cause i know the pain. i DO NOT want to fall again. but on the other hand, easier to say than to do.

Today is 15th may.. and it marks a special day. It's my dearest mummy's birthday!! Happy birthday mummy! it's still 15th may in singapore hor! hehe.

Hope she enjoy her dinner with my family yesterday. And of cuz the present that she's going to choose! hhee.
Well, i spent my weekend in Sheffield. Went to walk ard again but to no avail. The clothes and accessories here are simply too expensive! 3 times more expensive than the ones in spore. So it simply means NO SHOPPING for me.
NNNNNNNNNnnnnnooooooooooooo!! i want shopping. we'll see how. i yearn to go back to Singapore immediately. though the nice scenery and my colleagues are those i will miss in UK definately. and not forgetting my flatmates! hehe.

I'm feeling super tired now. It was quite a busy week for me. Jane's sick, so i have to help her with all her experiments this week. well, there's more to come i predict. but at least it's better than nothin to do. :") i'm going to be very busy for the next 2 weeks, as Andy said we have to stay till quite late? well, i dont mind either. going home early = sit and rot in my room.
So i presumed that i'm getting busier and busier, so i have decided not to go to Paris with the guys. the reason being, i do not want to ask Andy to let me off earlier, cause it's UNUSUAL for me to have work going on till the late evenings. so a bit pai seh to ask him lor. It's alright lah, i still can go Paris when i grow up right? i want to bring my parents along too cause i know they will like the place! will get my poor brothers to invest some money in it too. haha.
Did i make the correct choice? tell me!! i'm not going anywhere this weekend, except a bit shopping in Sheffield. soooooooooooo you guys can catch me online! Yiippee! i miss my friends!! i talked to my mama quite often one hor.. ! but dad is always working when i'm online. :(

i'm backkk again! i spent my weekends at Cambridge and Brimingham. This is the most expensive trip i had, i think i spent like almost 80 pounds there? my god! of cause travelling tickets are included.
However, i must say that this trip is not my most enjoyable one. hehe. cause it was really far too COLD! those who know me knew i hate to be COLD.
i have to be wrapped up when i attend lectures in LT in Singapore, so i really hate the ever changing weather in UK. It seems to be having 4 seasons in a day, a minute of sunny and a minute of rain. HATE it. 9 more weekss!!!

Yeah!! weekends again! time flies and i love it! tml is Cambridge and Birmingham! hehe. i bought a UOS jersey or maybe should i call it jacket yesterday at the union shop. it cost a whopping 22 pounds! which is like almost 70 bucks in s'pore. But i really like it. should get something that signifiy UOS since i'm here! hehe.
I guess we will not be travelling next week? if it's so.... then i will go shopping in cuty centre!!!!!! haha. i want to shop! a month since i shopped.i feel like buying a book to read here, since i really got nothin much to do here. and i finished watching my "the rose" VCDs. :"P
Anyway, my embryos DID NOT die after my injection. they are ALIVE! and they even showed the phenotype that i'm looking out for., although not all of them show can. hehe. but it's a good start mah. and the best thing is when Andy asked me to identify the embryos with the phenotype, i could do it! though it's not something great, but i could not do it last time. but i'm not sure whether if it's luck. haha. but i did see the phenotype lah.
Okies.. goin to sleep in half an hour time. going to wake up at 4am so i could talk to mummy at 5am and leave the house at 5.45am? hehe. see ya!!

today is super windy in Sheffield can. i woke up at 6.45am in the morning and i could hear the sound of the wind in my room with my windows closed! can u imagine it? As i walked into the kitchen, all the papers and mags are on the ground! notices on the fridge are also blown off by the strong wind. haha.of course, it's damm cold too. well, my flatmates gave me presents on my birthday! i mean they shouldnt have do it and i'm really pai seh because of it. It's a very cutie bear wearing Uni of Sheffield jersey and a UOS mug. thanks girls!
I went to peak district on the May day holiday. It's was a splendid trip and the most enjoyable so far!!

my god!! my flatmates actually celebrate my b day for me!! i really din expect it. really! we had a superb dinner cooked by Maiko and a yummylicious chocolate cake baked by Cecile! thanks gers! i had 20 candles on my cake, and i made a comment. " This is the first time i've got 20 candles on my cake!" and they were like " of cause! u are only 20 ONCE!" haha. wat i mean is like we always have only 1 candle on the cake so that our age is not revealed. (like real).haha.. and they were laughing like hell! and Mercedes said she goin to put that on the wall. We always put silly sentences that we said onto the wall. That's cute isnt it? i'm really really touched can!
Thanks all my friends for my bday greetings! emails, msn, friendster, tagboard, all appreciated! i thought my birthday this year will be a lonely one. but apparently it is not! i had my friends in UK to celebrate with me, my flatmates and my family and friends from s'pore! i love all of u! :"P

i like holidays. simply just love them. had my May day long weekends and drew, moses, julian and mattew visited sheffield. we went to Peak district on saturday and the scenery there is very nice can! shall post some pictures next time! hehe. but we went to meadowhall today, quite a big mall but with designer goods everywhere. haha. so as usual. no money to buy!
we went back to my flat to cook and have dinner and the guys and yanyan bought me a card and flowers for my birthday! so niceeee!! thanks a lott!! i love them! though it's a bit sad to spend b day overseas, but then it's like so sweeeet of them to give me the lil suprise. i'm really touched!
and of cause, thanks to my dear family and cousins who send me the Bday card too! Thanks thanks! not much of a suprise cause i can recognise Quan's handwriting!! hehe. but it did suprise me when i open the letter!
still not going to sleep yet. want to talk to my friends online in singapore!! but 10.20 in singapore, nobody will come online so early rite?haha.
