Though i dont support man united, i still insist on PAYING to go in visit the muesum and a tour at the stadium ALONE. haha. because all my friends have went in before already. i dont want them to pay again to accompany me in.
It was really a long weekend last week. the time seems to be going slower in manchester than sheffield. lots of stuff happened. :D

18 more working days !!
After slacking for 1 week with andy's absence, i'm full of work to be done for the next 3 working weeks.
But.. i just love to work. why? because i find slacking in the lab difficult. not busy, but you still have to pretend that you are very busy.
I find myself contradicting sometimes.
I used to drag myself to work for the past 12 weeks. but now, when i know i'm leaving soon, i sort of have a mixed feelings. i kinda getting used to my lab life now. but then, sometimes i feel like killing someone. haha.
Oh well, nvm. i will enjoy my last few weeks here definately. but still have to stick to my go lab early, go home late routine.
Oh yah, i tried to pack part of my lugguage just now. kept those clothes that i will not wear again, like my thick long sleeve and stuff. and those small small stuff that i bought. Though i din really shop much, i realise my lugguage is quite packed. why huh?
I have to work on my final report too liao. after the week i come back from manchester i guess. hehe.
Cant wait for school to start. but on the other hand, i'm still thinking shld i turn up for my project slot on the first day?

Monday tommorrow again. 20 more WORKING days to end of my OIAP. yes.
Heehee. Momo, Junqi and Elya came to sheffield this weekend. i think we have loads of fun, chatting eating washing. hehe. was intially worried that i didnt have much to talk to elya, but in fact she's real friendly! soooooooo, never judge a book by its cover.

Oh my. there's was this fight opp my flat this evening. fight between an english guy with his girl- friends and some muslim women with kids. i was like chatting with my bro and friends on msn when i suddenly heard people shouting." F***!!" the most prominent word. the rest were just mumbling.
Of cuz being the KPO me, poped my head out of my window. the ladies were all pushing one another, hurling abusive words at each other. the kids were running around, hiding at a corner. then suddenly, both groups stopped and were separated. the girl- friends of the english guy pull him away. but then to my horror, the damm guy, went to find a rod. a thick metal rod. it was easy for him because there's some construction going on around my flat. i was like damm. but luckily, the girls managed to stop him from going into the corridor again. and the police came.
I cant figure out what they were saying. only heard shoutings here and there. and i saw the man being handcuffed. that's all.
tommorrow is weekend again. i love it. i want to talk to my mum! been ages since i speak to her. well, ok, just a week ago. but that's long enough.
Congrats to my brother for finding his job!! you can surely pass all the medical tests! no worries! gong xi gong xi!! hehe.
Good news everywhere. hope i'll receive good news too.

we used to not listen to what our parents said to us when we are young, thinking that they nagged alot and stuff. but i seriously agreed with what my mum said. " never ever trust people too easily".
I was too easily taken in by people. i often listen to what they said, rather than what my mum says. why? i used to have this mentality that what my mum said is not true, my friends are not like what she described. however, sad to say, what she says always end up being true, leaving me sad and hurt at a corner, blaming everybody but myself.
20 years of living is not enough for you to see everything. but enough to learn from the mistakes. seriously speaking, i have many acquaintances, but not many close friends. let me count, close friends= those that i hanged out with frequently or contact with. pri sch is definately only one and only which is mabelline goh. the rest i do not wish to count lah.
i remember during the last term of primary sch days, we will go around with our fancy autograph books, asking people to write their profile in it. and not forgetting those poems.
" birds fly high, hard to catch, friends like you hard to forget." think this is the most prominent one. Excuse me. i dont think those that wrote in my book still remembers me though. We dont say hi when we met each other in malls, or try to act as if 'i din see u' on the bus. or maybe even we did and exchange contacts, we didnt really bothered to meet up after that.
Soooooo, i assumed that it's better to have a few good friends, rather that a huge amount of acquaintances. right?
i hate being make-use by people ok. so if i find out anyone doing it to me, i'm sorry. i had
enough of it. i hate it when people like to push the blames on you for everything when they did something wrong. come'on man, admit it if you are wrong. dont come and tell me, eh simin why did you do this and that. when u bloody hell know that it was your own fault. why people keep on doing that to me? am i really that silly to like accept all the blames for you? i hate it. stop it. there will be times i will really get angry. dont believe, then try me.

English weather changes so fast. even faster than my mood. last week it was around 20 over degrees. and now? 10 degress this afternoon. and it's super windy now. i can hear the wind blowing.

Well..........
ALL MY LOVELY FLATMATES ARE GONE.they had all went back to their homes for the summer. :(
So now, i'm being left ALONE in a 6 room flat, with a huge kitchen and toilets. With the toilet lights flickering, i don't even dare to step into it after 9pm.
Yesterday marked the first day i spent the night alone in my room, trying to pull the blankets above my head to sleep. but apparently, i couldnt till 2am in the morning. The whole of broadlane is super quiet. and of course my flat, which is unusual for me.
I hope there will be people moving into my flat. BUT i did not receive any letters or invoices for the new people, which means, nobody will move in yet. YET! i still hope that people will move in which i doubt so.:(
No pictures for this entry because i'm in the lab now, trying to find some stuff to do because janey is not here today and Andy had gone for a week's long hol. i'm going to attend a conference at 1pm and hopefully, rosemary has the time to teach me how to takae pictures of my in-situ pictures.

today's is 8th of june and Cecile has gone back to Paris. everybody was so sad can. but then good things always come to an end, it applies after all. i think everybody woke up early today to say good-bye to cecile. think she had already reached her home liao. sobz. think i will be more sad when sat approaches. ALL of my flatmates will be gone. and i will be ALONE in the flat.

awwwwww...the party yesterday was totally awesome! everybody prepared a dish to bring to the party and we ended up with 2 whole tables for food! pasta, some fantastic rice, veggies curry, a pastry that taste like pizza but it's not, nicey potatoes pastries, yummmlicious mushrooms, chocolate cakeeeeees, yeap, i think we have 2 chocolate cakes and they were really delicious!
But most important of all, everybody enjoyed themselves and it's was a great dinner. my first and last dinner with my flatmates staying below me. :( most surprisingly to me at least, the 3 guys can really cook very well!!!!!! the mushrooms were terrific. and the rice were awwwww. even though it was a bit burnt.haha.
Not many pictures taken though. :( tommorrow is the last day i can see cecile. she's leaving on wednesday, but i have to go to the lab. so i cant say good bye to her.. :( well, might not have a chance to meet up with her again, unless she comes to spore because i dont think i can afford to come back to uk again at least for several years. i will miss her though.
Oh yes. i've got a good news. my PCR works! hehe. i'm now doing reverse genetics, screening for mutations in fishes to see whether they have got the alsin genes. so, i tried using the dna of the fin clipped fishes and PCR them. and they worked! Andy is so happppppppy! haha. he was already happy when i told him last week that the primers designed worked and they anneal at several temperatures. so now, i'm going to continue my PCR with several of the templates. hope everything goes well for the rest of the 6 weeks i'm here.

i just reached home from the university pub. went there with Cecile and her french and spanish friends. well, they were really nice people. good good. but the sad thing is all of them are leaving next week. boo-hoo. every single of my flatmate will leave next week! arghs. then i will be stranded alone here in my flat. well, too bad i meet them too late here, if not i think my life in sheffield will be much more interesting.haha.
Anyways, hope that the farewell party will be fun. i dunno what i'm typing now.haha. so i better stop before u guys turn crazy.haha.

43 days to 15th july! yes! hehe.
BORING. that's what i can say about today. oh yah, maybe a bit of excitement in the morning. there's was a mini explosion from the microwave in my lab today. yes. it did let out a huge 'bommmmm' sound and i'm standing only 1m in front of it! damm, i was so shocked can. but, it's not me who did it hor! haha. the thought of my pizza incident is still lingering in my mind. *grinz* luckily, there's no chemical in the microwave, just PBS. HENG ah! if not u guys can say sayonara to me liao. choy!! hehe.
I spend 3 hours looking down in the microscope doing mounting. do till i cocked- eye already. oh yah, yesterday i was so bored in the lab that i start to take some pictures, wanted to take interrrresting ones, but lab wat. how interesting can it be!!
yeah, my size S gloves. because i cant fit into Xs haha. i got my own box of gloves! finally something that i own in the lab. okies lah, i still got my own pinky girly boxy for my tubes and my pinky eppendof rack.

44 more days to 15th july!!
Hehe. i finally received my summer accomodation invoice today. haha. first time being so happy when i actually have to pay. alright, i added up the total amount of rent i had to pay in my whole course of internship over here. a whopping $3260.961!! can u imagine it!! arghs. plus my $2000 for air tix and at least $2000 expenses and travelling trips, i spend a total of $7260.961! my god! i cant believe it! but sch subsidised $3000, so that means i have to fork out $4261 myself. but my dad paid for my air tix, so it's $2261 myself. well, not actually myself, cause mum and bros gave me some money for exchange, so i think i spend $1000 myself. now u guys know why i can only buy chocolates for u all. sobz. i have to work 200 hrs at videoezy u know!
Well, who ask me to gei kiang lah. got comfortable bed and nice yummlicious warm food to enjoy in spore dont want, want to come UK. obi good. serve me right.
Anyways, enough of the maths here. i just watched dodgeball. yeap, i know it's already an ancient movie lah. but i got nothin much to do here mah. cant blame me. hehe. not a bad movie, just enough for relaxing because not much storyline= not much brain needed.
Alright, the no brainy simin needs to go and sleep now. she realise that she has been sleeping a lot in Sheffield. a LOT! 10 hours of sleep everyday, though back in spore she only sleeps 3. haha! 3.33333333 times more. but she just simply dont care. turning into a pig. *oink* good nite.

House of wax is definately one of the best movie i ever seen. It's been a long time since i have really seen a thrilling movie after sixth sense. Yeapp, with my missy reiruiz. remember the popcorn incident? haha. darn funny.
I was watching the movie in my room, with 3 of my flatmates out to manchester. so the flat was quite quiet. haha. there's was one scene that i nearly scream out. yeah, only ONE scene. because it was unexpected. All the expected horrifying scenes are being cut away by me. haha. turn down the volume, and my head away.tee-hee.
yah, i'm being a scaredy cat here. but i am one wat. rem countless horror movies i watched with rui, both of us always make a fool out of ourselves. screaming before the ghost come out, and laugh when the ghost appear. stupid isnt? but i really miss the times we spend together during sec sch. seoul garden, pizza, caterpillar? haha.
Alright, going to do some work and catch some sleep early. tommorrow is injection and busy busy day. 2 entries per day. not bad huh, simin.

this morning was spent slacking away in the lab because andy has got 2 meetings in the morning. but by noon time, he was back and i have got stuff to do. MOUNTING EMBRYOS!
Basically, just snip off the embryos head and put them in glycerol and cover then with a coverslip. sounds easy eh? but it's not. I have to remove the york sac from the embryos. and not a singel york cell is allowed to be left hanging. Damm! why did they have to move when u are trying your best to remove their yolk sac? haha. but mouting isnt that bad afterall. kinda got used to it after a few trys.
Tml i will be damm busy. have lots to do when andy is gone. LOTs! haha. but it's alright.. i dont mind.
I'm thinking to myself today, "will i miss uk when i leave here?" it seems that i yearn to go back to singapore. but i do miss here when i go back. i miss the pple in the lab, esp rosemary and jane, whom i spend most of the time with, chatting, disturbing each other .. and our secret place! i miss murray and andy, who taught me lots of stuff, guiding me, even though i'm terribly stupid. haha! and of cuz claire, ann-cecile, claudia,yannick, catherine,sarah,stone, caroline, sandrine..blah blah. alright, i'm stating the whole lab down. ohhhh yeah, and the shuai shuai tim and steve, though i dont speak to them at all.haha.
haha! my hp finally worked again after so many days. finally got my picture send to my lappy.
the brikie that i wanted to buy. actually i think it's not brikie, it's papillo, sister brand i think.
